Saint was established in
1993 by Ronnie Goldberg, initially the designer of hand knitwear and hand
crocheted fashion clothing for the Saint Label as well as for some of
Australia’s top fashion houses, such as Collette Dinnigan, Scanlan &
Theodore and Brave.
Ronnie was living in Vietnam at the time
overseeing the production of her fashion range when she became fascinated
with the craft skills of the local Vietnamese people. She became aware of
the influences from a legacy of French occupation and colonization,
apparent in the language, architecture, cooking and cottage industries
such as knitwear, crochet, petit point needlework, embroidery, elaborate
wrought iron work to name a few.
She developed the Saint Range, integrating
the skills and techniques of the Vietnamese handcrafts with Western and
European design.
Understanding that many people today no
longer have the time to create heirlooms for their own family or a
precious gift for a friend, Saint offers heirloom quality pieces at
affordable prices.
Using pure Australian wool or timeless
white cotton with white or pastel embroidery in various colour ways, Saint
linens come in many beautiful assorted designs and can be purchased either
as sets, mixed and matched or chosen as individual pieces, all of the
highest quality.
For those who appreciate quality, Saint is
the perfect choice in linen for a home or for commercial premises in such
buoyant times for homewares and soft furnishings.
